But I can relate to your experience of attaining a high goal and feeling the change more in how other people see and treat you. Two years ago I finished my doctorate and its amazing how different other people see me, call me 'doc', and otherwise elevate me - while I just feel like the same old me. Of course, no one fixes my car for free (I'm jealous!) But for some reason my opinion matters, even about things that are not my area of expertise. It makes no sense - I just witness it.
